keep them sneakers clean!
remember when you got that new pair of shoes and couldn’t wait to wear them but were terrified to wear them at the same time because you knew as soon as you did, your brother someone would step on them and then your wonderfully beautiful shoes would be ruined FOREVER?
here is a little tip that i found in REAL SIMPLE magazine that i just know is going to make me a much happier woman. in the spirit of full disclosure, i have never tried this, but it seems to make so much sense, i have been knocking my head saying “why didn’t i think of that?”
spray starch – yes that’s right spray starch!! you use it for ironing so take an extra second or two and apply a light layer to your canvas shoes to help repel the dirt and grime. i am thinking that it won’t repel everything and will most likely need a reapplication but it has to help – it must! like i said, it makes so much sense!!!
and this will make me a very happy woman. i only buy my daughter (all the kids actually) one pair of shoes at a time. i cannot afford more than than and besides, she is big enough now to borrow my shoes…*sigh*. i splurge on my princess and buy her ‘chucks’ (on sale with a coupun of course). she loves them and wears them till they are literally hanging by a thread. she never even complains about how dirty they get but i know it bothers her because i see her wash them and notice the ways she tries so hard to keep them clean. if i could help them maintain their newness for just a little bit longer – oh that would feel so good.
hope it works for you too!
