i’d never thought i’d actually say this
and I certainly never thought I would be saying this here on my little spot in this bloggy world but KUDDOS to Martha Stewart. It’s not that I have anything against this woman - except perhaps her never ending perfection when it comes to all things homey. I’ve sort of admired her for awhile (I even steal her magazines from my mom and occasionally watch her show) but in the end, really? it’s all about envy (That’s the sad sad truth) I never really thought that as much as I might ever want to be, I will never ever be that perfect or creative or talented - never that Martha-ish.
I don’t have to be though, it’s okay. No really, it’s okay. I have come to accept my imperfections and even like them a little. But that is not what this post is about. What this post is about is the the yummy goodness of Martha Stewart’s newest cookbook all about COOKIES. I hemmed and hawed a bit before buying this book but then I happened upon her show one day and on that show she was baking cookies using recipes from this cookbook. The cookies I happened upon her making? Her version of Thin Mints. ‘Nough said - I now had to have this cookbook because me? I LOVE the Thin Mints.
So I picked it up and while I still have yet ot make the Thin Mint rip offs, I did use her recipe for chocolate chip cookies. I used it to make chocolate/butterscotch chip cookies with walnuts. Two things have made me write this post: 1) I followed the recipe and the cookies came out perfect. I didn’t burn them and they were soft and chewy as promised. And 2) the recipe actually made as many as it said it would - approximately 30. Most recipes I have used for cookies promise 2-3 dozen but in the end, I usually only get half that much. Oh and 3) these cookies were DELICIOUS.
Now you all now how nutty I am to take time out of my day to write about a my new cookbook and cookies. But like I said, I’m okay with it - I actually even like it a bit.
