how NOT to make a good first impression

If you ever find yourself enrolled in a summer session class that you are very excited about taking but are slightly worried you are a bit in over your head with. And, let’s say this class is with a professor you have been waiting to take a class from for a year. Now let’s add to the fact that you would really like to make a good first impression not just with the prof but with the other 10 students that are enrolled in you class……

If you really really want to make that good impression, pay very close attention to following list:

1) if after a few minutes of being awake, you realize that today is a day you should just stay in bed, DO NOT get out of bed. just pull the covers over your head and hide for the rest of the day.

2) if you must get out of bed because kids need to get to school and today is the first day of your summer class, DO NOT by any means forget to check the weather report because more than likely there will be some freak thunder storm that day (even if it was just 100 the other day) leaving you unprepared and wearing cute flip flops and without an umbrella.

3) after waiting for the freakish downpour to settle down before exiting the car, DO NOT when it finally does stop raining decide you have a quick minute to stop at the campus cafe to grab quick sandwich and drink because you realized you have had neither breakfast or lunch and it is after noon. doing so may very well result in the downpour to recommence leaving you no choice but to cross campus in it - in flip flops and without an umbrella!

4) when you finally make it to the classroom drenched like a lost puppy DO NOT by any means drop your 32oz drink as you take your seat causing it to spill all over the floor and a few of your classmates to chuckle.

5) when you return from the bathroom with paper towels to clean up your mess DO NOT dwell on how nice the girl across the aisle who comes to help you is. if you cannot help but think about how nice she is, DO NOT let it get you emotional because then you will start to cry.

6) it is also highly recommended that when this very nice girl asks you if everything is okay that you muster up the ability to say something to the effect of “it’s just one of those days”: DO NOT, under any circumstances, think about the fact that you and your sweetie are currently disagreeing about something you see as an important and fundamental part of your lives. DO NOT do this because then you will begin to cry uncontrollably and will have to leave the class room for a while causing you to have to return to class late.

failing to follow this advice will most probably cause you to become known as ‘that crazy chick’

yeah - i really should have just stayed in bed today.
