I Call Times!

this is me calling times: a much needed break from the numerous things that chase me daily demanding my attention. i’m safe…even if just for a moment or two.

things i don’t want to forget

  • how excited all 3 kids were about not just the wedding but about the fact that jerry and i were making ‘it official’ - they helped me count the hours and the minutes
  • the completely relaxed feeling i had leading up to the wedding days before and the day of - it was a good thing and about time
  • the moment i was told jerry was near and i got butterflies in my stomach
  • the moment my happiness and good emotions got the best of me and i cried like a baby knowing i was about to see jerry and it was our wedding day
  • the moment i saw him
  • the way everyone laughed - a pure joy laughter
  • the moments leading up the ralph announcing us man and wife - i was nearly jumping in place
  • when the little monkey asked jerry if he could call him dad now
  • the big boy chanting “i have a new dad, i have a new dad, i have a new dad…”
  • the pure joy of the whole day that jerry and i shared not just with each other but with our families and close friends
  • my dad crying - i have tried really hard to remember but i am pretty sure i have never seen that man cry before
  • enrique saying “the wedding is almost over” and being genuinely sad about having to quit celebrating
  • our oldest two requesting and giving the first toasts of the night - they did a fabulous job and seemed so grown up!
  • waking up the next morning next to the man who is now my husband and knowing with every part of my being that things were exactly as they should be
