keeping motivated
I was watching TV earlier today and saw a little factoid flash across
the screen: “Losing one pound will remove 4 pounds of pressure on your
knees.” This stop me in my tracks. Really? 4 pounds of pressure?
WoW! I could totally benefit from that. My right knee has been acting
up recently aching while in bed and especially while driving.
It also made me think that I need to remember things like this in my
moments of weakness. There are many other reasons that I’m losing
weight.
On the practical side:
I will feel better.
I will be able to keep up with the kids on a walk, hike or bike ride.
I will lower my cholesterol and make my doctor (and me) happy.
My clothes will fit which will save me money and give me more than
just one pair of jeans, one skirt, one pair of shorts, and a handful
of tops that fit and/or look okay on me.
On the emotional side:
I won’t be embarrassed to take the kids to the beach or pool.
I will believe it for myself when my husband tells me I am beautiful.
I won’t continuously feel self conscious when out in public or with
friends.
I will know that I have accomplished something that has been difficult
for me.
What is keeping you motivated?

For what it’s worth I think you’re pretty rockin’.
And most importantly, I’m really digging the redesign to the blog! When did this happen? You little sneak.
