losing because i gained
I gained something recently besides a few extra pounds. I gained the support of some really great women – we’ve created an email support group for ourselves. I now have people to report to and who hold me accountable for my actions. They also provide me with a lot of support and encouragement. I’ve also joined Weight Watchers Online and the daily feedback about the food I eat is something I sorely needed. Knowing that the nachos I want to eat take up most or all of my points(calories) for the day helps me make a better decision to not have them or to have only a few. It’s been good. If it wasn’t for this group of women and for what I am learning on WW, I would not be having the success I am having now.
Right now I am celebrating seeing a 150 number each morning when I weigh
myself. I’ve been playing peek a boo with the 150s for a couple of weeks.
159 has showed up one day and then not the next couple and never on my weigh
in day. This week, however, I have seen 150 something every morning which
has me thinking I just might see it when I weigh in! It’s good to see that
smaller number each day. It’s my little reminder to stick with it.
I am also having smaller portions and turning down treats. I was at a buffet
last week and took one pass, making sure my plate was mostly full of the
green salad and the fresh fruit. I even took the kids for ice cream the
other day and was happy to have a bite (one bite!) of each of theirs and not
a whole scoop of my own. And instead of having a sweet snack at night when
I crave one, I am having a yogurt or sugar free pudding cup instead. Being
able to make these types of choices is a huge deal for me. I wouldn’t have
done any of those things a month ago! It tells me this healthier way of
eating is beginning to sink in and is going to stick. I am not on a diet, I
am changing the way I view and eat food and that is feeling really really
good.
Are you losing weight? Do you have any small changes to celebrate? I’d love to hear it.
