not tonight…
my parents bought my oldest son a new loft bed. he’s been sharing a room with his younger brother for the past 5 years and so far, they have been sharing a bunk bed. Luis turned 13 this year and lately has been expressing the need for some space of his own. we figured the loft bed was a good solution. i have more to say about this whole issue but tonight? i just don’t have it in me! i am oh so tired!
Ikea has a fabulous delivery system….did you know that? i could say more about that too but again, not today. the bed was delivered this morning and i thought it would only take a couple hours to put together but that couple of hours turned into about 6!!! it was not as complicated as it was HEAVY. really really heavy. and it was a lot of work even with my son and his best friend helping us.
when all was said and done, it turned out great and my big kid has a great new space to call all his own. his smile today when he realized what was delivered and his smile as he put it together and his smile as he climbed into his own bed tonight will make all the aches and pains worth it tomorrow morning. it even makes that humongous bruise on my arm worth it. yeah…i had a little mishap while standing on a chair – i’m not the most graceful :O)
oh and i still managed to cook a new recipe for dinner tonight. i’ll tell you more about it…but not tonight.
