I’m unholely
Just about everyday I am here on campus, I cannot help but notice the many differences which exist between me and the rest of the student population. The most obivious of course is that I am at least 13 years older and it is perhaps this age difference that has a lot to do with the other things I notice
- I show up for class
- I read the material
- I ask questions and participate in discussions – lots of times it’s just me and the prof having a conversation in a room full of 150
- I do not fall asleep in class
- If I have my computer out in class, it is for note taking purposes and not for facebooking, emailing, twittering, web surfing, chatting…
- I pack my lunch because I cannot afford the food on campus
But today, I found out I could add something else to this list. I suppose I’ve noticed this differnce many times but today it stood out to me in an amusing way. I noticed a small tear (maybe 1/2 inch) in my jeans this morning as I got out of my car. It’s on my upper thigh and I’ve spent the morning carrying my sweater in front of me and placing it on my lap while sitting in hopes that no one will notice.
As I left my morning session, I exited behind a girl who had a hole in her pants too. Except, her pants were really short shorts, the hole was really big and there were two of them, and they both stretched across her butt. I left laughing at myself because here I am mortified over a small fairly inconspicuous tear and this girl’s bottom is on display for all to see. At least she wore cute undies :O)
